The Victron Blue Smart IP67 battery charger is the wireless solution for monitoring voltage and current, adjusting settings and updating the charger as new features become available. The functionality of the Victron Blue Smart IP67 charger is further enhanced with Bluetooth, similar to the Victron IP22 and Victron IP65 chargers.
Fully sheathed: waterproof, shock resistant and fire retardant.
Water, oil or dirt cannot damage the Victron Blue Smart IP67 charger. The housing is made of cast aluminium and the electronics are coated with resin.
Highest charging efficiency ever!
Set a new industry standard: With an efficiency of at least 92% or more, these chargers produce three to four times less heat. In addition, once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than one watt, about five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Adaptive 5-stage charging algorithm:
"Bulk" (constant current phase) - "Absorption" (constant voltage phase) - "Recondition" (regeneration phase), - "Float" (charge retention voltage phase)- "Storage" (storage mode)
The Victron Blue Smart is characterized by its microprocessor-controlled, "adaptive" battery management. "Adaptive" means that the charging process is automatically adapted to the type of battery use.
Storage mode: Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use.
The storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has taken place within 24 hours. In storage mode, the charge retention voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 24 V battery) to minimize gas generation and corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the gassing voltage level. This results in a kind of equalisation charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the two main causes of premature battery failure.
Charges also Lithium-Ion (LiFePO4) batteries
LiFePO4 batteries are charged with a simple - constant current phase - constant voltage phase - charge retention voltage phase algorithm.
Recovery of deep-discharged "dead" batteries
Unlike other brands, the Victron Blue Smart IP67 (waterproof) charger will attempt to recharge a deep-discharged battery by forcing a weak charging current on it. Normal charging will then resume as soon as there is sufficient voltage between the battery terminals.
Can be used in a hot environment such as a machine room. The output current is reduced when the temperature rises up to 60 °C, but the charger does not fail.
