The deep V hulls of the modern pleasure boats are designed to give you a calm ride in the rough water. The stronger the upwind, the more it is necessary to maintain a straight line with trim tabs. The roll and the lateral inclination depend on the wind and the position of the passengers. The longitudinal inclination, also called the trim position, depends on the speed and the load. When changing course, the wind direction also changes and the boat has to be trimmed again. If passengers change their position, they must also be re-trimmed. This necessity to constantly adjust the trim position to the changed load conditions unnecessarily distracts the skipper and therefore poses a safety risk at high speeds.

The Mente Marine ACS RP (Roll and Pitch) fully automatic trim tab control automatically adjusts the boat to an optimum trim position with respect to the longitudinal axis by eliminating the heeling. Especially semigliders keep the bow up at high speed. The longitudinal axis control improves visibility and allows riding in the half glider area. Acceleration is also improved. This is particularly suitable for large boats.
Curve detection
During cornering manoeuvres, the boat tilts towards the inside of the curve. A gyroscope is installed in the system which detects such curve manoeuvres. Therefore, trim corrections are not carried out during cornering. Unnecessary trim corrections are therefore automatically prevented by the system and the boat leaves the curve with optimum trim. The AUTO LED indicator flashes when the system detects cornering and does not change the trim position. When a stable course is back straight ahead, the new trim position is measured and the Mente Marine ACS system corrects the trim position due to the changed conditions.
Adaptive System
The Mente Marine ACS system adapts to boats of all sizes. Thanks to the adaptive system, the boat can sail at an optimum trim level, taking into account differences in the size and operation of the trim tab.
Different sea states are also detected by the system. In calm water the system corrects faster than in rough seas. This allows a quick reaction if necessary and prevents unnecessary trim tabs movements in high waves.
Displacement travel
The trim tabs lose their effect when the speed falls below the glide speed. The Mente Marine ACS detects this driving condition and does not attempt to correct it in displacement driving. During the acceleration phase, the Mente Marine ACS system automatically activates and corrects the trim position even before the boat is "over the hill".
The AUTO indicator flashes during displacement travel. The flashing indicates that the automatic mode is active, but is not used temporarily due to the slow speed.
Automatic/Manual Mode
The automatic button is used to set the operating mode of the Mente Marine ACS System. By briefly pressing the Auto button, you can switch to automatic or manual mode.
In automatic mode, the trim level of the boat is set automatically provided the indicator is lit. When the indicator is flashing, the automatic mode is locked while the boat is taking a sharp turn and during displacement travel.
Of course, the automatic mode can be switched off and the panel can be used as a manual control unit, which is useful, for example, during rough water navigation to trim the bow even lower and thus make the navigation more comfortable.
