The AIT2500 from Digital Yacht is a fully featured Class B+ SOTDMA AIS transponder with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB data output. It is supplied with a GPS antenna.
Digital Yacht has introduced a new range of Class B+ AIS transponders. Class B+, a new standard, uses SOTDMA format transmissions that offer 5W of power (2.5x stronger than a normal Class B), a guaranteed time window for transmission in busy areas and faster update rates depending on vessel speed. It is ideal for ocean-going sailors, fast powerboats and smaller non-mandated commercial vessels, all of which require the best possible performance and secure satellite tracking applications, so really want to be seen. It continues to work with existing Class B and Class A systems.
This ultra-compact Class B+ transponder has three outputs: NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB port.
Using the USB interface, the Digital Yacht AIT2500 can be programmed or serve as a PC/Mac-controlled navigation system and is compatible with both Digital Yacht's NavLink app and SmarterTrack PC software.
Installation is simple - just plug in the power supply (12/24v), mount the supplied external GPS antenna and connect it to the Digital Yacht SPL2000 AIS VHF antenna splitter to the existing VHF antenna or to a separate VHF antenna. The Digital Yacht AIT2500 can also be networked with the NavLink Gateway to wirelessly transmit data to a tablet or iPad.
