The "Youth on Board" initiative with Opti training sails has finished
Berlin, 15th February 2012: The "Youth on Board" initiative, in which the boatoon.com boat portal, together with the Beilken Sails sail manufacturer offered the Optimist-Training sail at a 66% discount - for just 79 Euro - for a limited period of four weeks has ended with a record number of 80 participating sailing schools and clubs.
"It's really nice to see how popular the Opti is," said the initiators of the "Youth on Board" campaign Jörg Müller-Arnecke, managing director Beilken Sails Ltd, and Torben Knappe, CEO and founder of boatoon.com. Both firms have offered Opti training sails over the past four weeks for only 79 Euros in the boatoon.com Online-Shop.
"Over 80 sailing schools and clubs got involved. A total of nearly 170 young sailors now have access to training material and I hope that they continue to be so in this lifelong sport," said Torben Knappe and Jörg Müller Arnecke added: "Because that's where the future of the whole branch grows, youth development needs special attention."
The boat portal boatoon.com, now in its third year, has implemented this, the third action around the theme "Youth on Board" and will continue further actions. "In the coming months we will be offering new initiatives. For example in March and April there will be further offers in our sailing clothing line together with our partner Marinepool. At the same time we are thinking about cooperating with new boat manufacturers," said Knappe.
Opti-Training sails are now available for the regular price of 235€.
