The exhibition marking the start of the 2011/12 season has come to a successful end
Berlin, 26 September 2011: More exhibition space, more boats, more adventure. The annual INTERBOOT exhibition has come to a close with a bang.
The exhibition was the 50th INTERBOOT in Friedrichshafen, and consisted of a parade of new releases: Around 93 000 people were on board the nine-day journey through the diverse world of water sports. As well taking in the large range of information on offer and a versatile program in eight exhibition halls, many visitors took advantage of the opportunity to take one of the more than 100 boats and yachts for a test drive in the INTERBOOT harbour.
"The anniversary edition of our international water sports exhibition was successful. The majority of exhibitors reported a promising trade show with expert visitors and good quality conversations. They are expecting significantly improved post-fair business as opposed to the previous year," said a satisfied Klaus Wellmann, Exhibition CEO.
The INTERBOOT harbour and waterfront promenade in Friedrichshafen were, for eight days of perfect weather, a big attraction in the region. Tens of thousands watched the races and the Liquid Quarter Mile motorboat competition. Even Friedrichshafen mayor Andrew Fire and first mayor Dr. Stefan Köhler were convinced of the great atmosphere prevailing at the waterfront when they took a ride on a participant's boat.
"We are very pleased with the way the recent trade show went in all our areas, motor boat, sail boat, charter and test drive harbour, above all over the first weekend. The number of orders taken in 2010 and thus our expectations was matched by Thursday. For the first time we had two test boats in the harbour, which were very well received. We will maintain our commitment to that effect. Like every year, we are very satisfied with the INTERBOOT 2012 and are planning an identical exhibition for next year," concluded Mike Lessig, Head of Sales at Bavaria Yachts Ltd.
