The X-Yachts story
X-Yachts, one of the most successful and quality-oriented boatyards in the world, was founded in 1979. The company quickly saw increases in its turnover and constructed successful winning yachts for the IOR scene. Its great successes in the field of racing attracted attention in the Cruising market, where there was demand for quick, sporty and comfortable high quality yachts. X-Yachts availed itself of expertise in regatta racing to meet the expectations of the cruising community. Thus the first Performance Cruisers were created – a combination of regatta oriented racers and comfortable family yachts. In the 90s, X-Yachts introduced a whole series of Performance Cruisers onto the market. With the introduction of the X-73 in 2001 another milestone in X-Yachts history of successes was laid, and the company entered the luxury ranks of Bluewater Yachts.
X-Yachts - The new generation
With the introduction of the models X-43 and X-46 onto the market, a new generation of Performance Cruisers was established. The X-70 is a Racer/Cruiser which remains unparalleled to this day. It hit the market in summer 2005, combining modernity with classical elegance. In 2006, X-Yachts brought out the X-55, a yacht with a host of unique details.
X-Yachts - The Unity Series
The new X-35 One Design follows the traditions of the X-79 and the X-99. These X-Yachts have admirers in many fields and make possible fair and exciting regatta events. In their first year, as many as 100 X-Yachts were sold. In 2007 the model’s big sister, the X-14 was born and was excellently received by the market.
The X-Yachts Cruising Line – Xc Range
The X-Yachts Cruising line was developed for sailors who enjoy sailing long distances with style and comfort without having to forgo the same design and quality for which X-Yachts is known in the performance field. The first model in this family, the Xc 45, was awarded - already in the year of its debut - with the title ‘European Yacht of the Year 2009’. The Xc 42 followed and the series doubled in size with the Xc 50 and Xc 38, the latter of which was awarded the ‘European Yacht of the Year 2010’.
The Xperformance Range
In early 2010 the boatyard began to work on the new Xp 44 models. The existing series had been developed in 2002/3 and it was high time for a new range. The new Xp models – so far the Xp 44 and the Xp 38 have been developed – follow the tradition of the successful X-Yachts, but with a combination of developed design and the latest technologies.
