The exclusive interior fittings of the Lagoon catamarans, developed in the design office in Vendée and Bordeaux are much more than the sole result of the many years of experience of the designers and their studies. It is the result of direct feedback from the Lagoon customers through this wide network of dealers.
Lagoon - History
Established in 1984, Lagoon was a direct development from Jeanneau's racing division (Jeanneau Techniques Avancées), which made its mark on the racing monohulls and multihulls circuits with Pierre Ler and Fleury Michon, among others, whose winning records remain unbeaten to this day.
The first generation of Lagoon catamarans was launched from 1987 to 1996 with the Lagoon 55, 47, 57 and 67. The charter market made use of the Lagoon 37 and the Lagoon 42, whose production was limited. However, it established some strong guidelines which identify the brand from the outset: the highest quality of design and construction with above average performance. These are still the Lagoon shipyard's fundamental values.
1996 saw the launch of a new generation of Lagoon that saw immediate success on the market. The following basic principles were important: maximum protection from the sun, maximum use of the available space (hence the vertical cabin windows, which have become a Lagoon trademark), more comfort with a careful look at the trends of the scene through direct contact with and feedback from the customers.
Lagoon has been the world leader in cruising catamarans since 2003, mainly due to its innovative range and supportive and customer orientated service and distribution network. Today, Lagoon has over 60 distributors worldwide.
