Hanse Yachts: competence, experience and innovation - sailing ships with character
Hanse: The use of laminate in boat construction requires a high level of experience. Specialists in the Hanse GRP department work on the optimal processing of materials. There, where these methods have a long tradition, is where the core component of the Hanse yacht is constructed out of resin and multi-layered lattice. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute, Hanse Yachts has developed the expansion of GRP and metal and is currently using this knowledge in the manufacture of their boats.
Hanse: Just under 20 years experience manufacturing boats
How it began: It all started with the Hanse 291, first built in summer 1993 in Greifswald under the leadership of the Swedish boat builder Bent Elgaard. After only four weeks, the Hanse 291 was on sale at the "hanseboot" boat show for a bargain price of 44,444 German marks. The Hanse 291 provided the fundamentals of any sailing yacht: great sailing performance, an auxiliary engine, berths, galley, toilet pump - and all at an affordable price, earning the boat a special place in sailors' hearts. The next Hanse was a development of the Finngulf 33: the rig was shortened, the interior was altered and after many other small modifications, the Hanse 331 was put on show at "hanseboot." From that point on, the motto became "evolution rather than revolution." Working on the basis of feedback from owners and the boat yard, the Hanse 291 evolved into the Hanse 292 and 301. We now have over ten different yacht models to choose from.
