A cabin boat is a sailing boat or motor boat which has a cabin, in other words a living, resting or sleeping space. A cabin boat is usually no longer than ten meters and is ideal for short weekend trips and day outings on inland waters, rivers and near the coast. A motor boat is usually used as a basis for a cabin boat. The navigation of a cabin boat and all of the controls and a small sleeping or sitting area is located inside the cabin.

Construction of the cabin boat
A cabin boat is usually fitted with a fixed roof. However, there are cabin boat models on which a waterproof collapsible roof is attached, providing the same protection from the weather. The cabin boat can then be driven with the roof open in nice weather. When it starts raining, the roof can be attached quickly and easily. This allows the cabin boat with the retractable roof to be used more flexibly. The cabin is usually equipped with one or more windows, so that, on the one hand, the inside is kept nice and light, and on the other, so that the captain of the vessel can look outside whilst steering.
